Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Dr. Shihab Jimaa is currently an Associate Professor at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Digital Communications from Loughborough University, England, UK, in 1990, and 1986, respectively. Also, Dr. Jimaa holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCE) from the University of Hertfordshire, UK in 1998. He held several positions as Research Assistant, Research Fellow, Senior Lecturer, and Assistant Professor at various institutions including Loughborough University (UK), Warwick University (UK), Near-East University (Cyprus), Amman University (Jordan), and the University of Hertfordshire (UK).

His research interests include energy efficient wireless communication systems & networks, atrial fibrillation data analysis and validation, channel estimation and equalization, and signal processing for digital communications/biomedical engineering. He has successfully supervised about 30 M.Sc., three M.Phil., and three Ph.D. students.

Dr. Jimaa is a UK chartered electrical engineer, a senior member of the IEEE Communications and Education societies, a member of IET, and a fellow member of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) (UK). He has authored three book chapters, one patent, and about 100 papers in various refereed international conferences and journals. He was the guest editor of the Special Issue on Energy Efficient Wireless Communication Networks with QoS, International Journal of Communication Systems by John Wiley, 2017. Also Dr. Jimaa is an editorial board member of the International journal of Wireless Communication and Simulation.
