Dr. Michele Lanotte is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Civil Infrastructure and Environmental at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He received his BSc, MSc, and PhD in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy), specializing in Pavement Engineering. Dr. Lanotte worked in Qatar to develop the new pavement design procedure for the Public Work Authority of Qatar. Later, he joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University as a postdoctoral research associate where he worked on several research projects for the Michigan Department of Transportation, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, and the Federal Highway Administration.
Dr. Lanotte’s expertise and interests include experimental and numerical investigation of the mechanical behavior of asphalt pavements and materials, chemo-mechanics of bituminous materials and structural design of flexible pavements.
