Dr. Yasser Fowad AlWahedi graduated from the Petroleum Institute with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering in 2006; he was among the first batch of graduates. He joined GASCO as a Process Engineer in the same year. In 2009, he pursued his Ph.D. in chemical engineering in the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. He received his M.Sc. in 2012 and Ph.D. in 2015.
His research is focused on the development of adsorbents for H2S removal, adsorption modeling, and adsorption systems upscaling, design and optimization. Moreover, Dr. AlWahedi's research also spans the field of zeolite-based catalysis and zeolite characterization.
In 2013, Dr. AlWahedi joined the Gas Research Center (GRC) as a Senior Technology Officer. Upon his receipt of his Ph.D. degree, he was promoted to the Chief Technology Officer position. His work in the GRC focused on research management and technical support. In August 2015, Dr. AlWahedi joined the faculty of Chemical Engineering at Khalifa University as an Assistant Professor.
