Dr. Alhseinat is Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at Khalifa University. He has several publications in excellent scientific journals, conference proceedings and recently he has filed two patents. Moreover, within a short time of his employment, he has managed to attracted internal and external research grants that totals to more than AED 3.5 Million. Currently Dr. Alhseinat is working to establish his lab; he is supervising two graduate project design groups, two research associate and one postdoc. His current research activates include developing novel separation processes, investigating foaming issue in gas sweetening plants and developing reliable models for fouling prediction. Prior to join Khalifa University Dr. Alhseinat worked in the Petroleum Institute (PI) as Research and Teaching Associate. He was heavily involved in research activity, writing and preparing scientific proposals and presentations and publishing scientific articles. He managed to submit several patents application and publish one book chapter and several scientific journal papers in high impact Journals i.e. International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control, Desalination, Fluid Phase Equilibria, Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, and Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering. His work in PI addressed the foaming problem in natural gas sweetening units, thermodynamic of acid gas solubility in amine solution and the thermophysical properties characterization of gas sweetening amine solutions. Dr. Alhseinat came from the University of Edinburgh; he worked in the research group of world renowned scientist in the field of membrane science and fouling. Since 2009, Dr. Alhseinat is actively involved in oil and gas produced water treatment. He is expert in membrane fouling experiments and modelling. One of his ambitions is understanding membrane fouling for complex feed scenarios and developing reliable prediction methods.
