Dr. Samah Nazzal received her PhD degree in Optical Science and Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) in 2010 and her M.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering/ Optics and Photonics Technology from UAH in 2007. She received her first MSc degree in Physics (Applied Mathematical Physics) from Jordan University in 2000 and completed the course work of PhD degree in Physics at Jordan University before she was granted a graduate scholarship from UAH/USA.
Dr. Nazzal has been working at Khalifa University since 2013. She was part of the AMS department as a Visiting Assistant Professor. She had been an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering in Jeddah, KSA since 2010, Research Assistant at National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC) and NASA in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.
Dr. Nazzal's research focuses on the development of high refractive index Cherenkov detectors with a specialization in the use of different optical materials in detector design.
She was awarded a Teaching Appreciation certificate at UAH/USA in 2004.
