Denis Blouin has a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Mathematics, both from Laval University, Quebec City, Canada. He completed his DEC in Sciences, College Francois-Xavier-Garneau, Quebec City, Canada.

From 1990 to 1993 he worked as a lecturer of Mathematics at Masuku Polytechnic in Gabon. In 1995 he returned to Canada to work as an instructor of mathematics at the College of Montmagny before returning to Masuku Polytechnic as a mathematics lecturer in 2004. In 2008 Blouin moved to the UAE to work for Zayed University as a mathematics instructor and in 2014 he joined the Petroleum Institute (now part of the Khalifa University of Science and Technology) as a mathematics lecturer.
