John Langille received his Master’s Degree in English Philology from Oulu University, Finland and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Language Testing and Assessment from Griffith University, Australia. He held a lectureship position in the Academic Bridge Program (ABP), Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi for 8 years before transferring to the College of Arts & Sciences, Communication Department. Prior to working at the Petroleum Institute he worked as an EFL teacher at the University of Sharjah and the Higher Colleges of Technology (Women’s College), Al Ain – both in the UAE. While living in Australia he worked as a Senior Research Associate on the Australian Assessment of Communicative English Skills (access:) and the Special Test of English Proficiency (step:) projects at the National Center for English Language Teaching and Research (NCELTR) at Macquarie University in Sydney and an EFL teacher at the University of Newcastle, Australia. He has presented extensively at both regional in the Gulf and international conferences for many years.
