Overview

Khalifa University contributes to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being through education, research, and partnerships that promote better health outcomes locally and globally. The University’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) plays a central role in building healthcare capacity, with graduates in medicine and health-related disciplines accounting for 2.8 % of all university graduates in the latest academic year.

On campus, Khalifa University provides comprehensive mental health support, sexual and reproductive health awareness, and maintains a smoke-free environment, reflecting its commitment to a healthy academic and working community. Shared access to sports facilities further encourages active lifestyles within and beyond the campus. Collectively, these initiatives demonstrate Khalifa University’s integrated approach to education, research, and community service.

Healthcare Collaborations

Khalifa University maintains partnerships with leading healthcare providers, including:

SEHA, Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, Burjeel Medical City, Mediclinic, Mubadala Health, Capital Health Screening Center, NMC Health, PureHealth, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology, KeelXbio. The University collaborates with the Global Institute for Disease Elimination (GLIDE) to deliver the International Disease Elimination and Eradication Course (IDEEC), contributing to knowledge exchange and global public health capacity building.

These collaborations expand students’ access to clinical environments, research networks, and public health initiatives.

Community Health Efforts

Through the BALSAM Community Health Program, medical students engage directly with local communities – visiting senior citizens’ homes and promoting holistic well-being and preventive care.
