Dr. Mohammed Omar


Professor and Interim Chair of Industrial and Systems Engineering Department

Dr. Mohammed Omar, is a professor and interim chair of industrial and systems engineering department, he joined the Masdar Institute (part of Khalifa University of Science and Technology) back in 2012, prior to that he served as the graduate coordinator and associate professor in Clemson University, South Carolina. Dr. Omar’s research is in the areas of sustainable, knowledge based manufacturing lines and Eco-materials and their selection in production. His research is published in more than 100 journal and conference publications in addition to several book manuscripts, chapters and US and international patents. Dr. Omar is the current editor-in-chief for the Journal of Material Science Research, and also an associate editor for the Journal of Soft Computing. His research has been recognized by the Society of Mobility Engineering SAE foundation through its Manufacturing Leadership Award, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineering SME Richard L. Kegg Manufacturing Award, moreover his teaching has been recognized by the Clemson University College of Engineering Murray Stokely award for teaching excellence.
